Who are the IPA?
The IPA is the officially sanctioned Buffalo State College Computer Science Club. We are computer enthusiasts who enjoy both using and discussing the latest technology and are willing to help others do so.
What does the IPA do?
Some of the many activities we participate in and services we provide to the college include:
- Offer advice and/or help for any and all computer related issues to those in need (and come to our office), to include programming and Computer Science questions.
- Publish a newsletter detailing both our activities and providing computer and technology related news.
- Organize social and recreation activities, most prominent being a "Game Night"; open to any and all visitors and fellow gamers (quite often free food is an offer), check with the IPA office for details on location and time.
- Plan and organize trips to conferences that are of importance to the computing community
- Occacsionally participate in charity fundraisers for organizations in the local community.
- Provide server maintenance for campus computer science servers and other various IT services as our available and willing members dictate.
Where is the IPA?
Feel free to stop on by! We have an office located in Chase Hall (the BSC Police station building) on the second floor across from the computer lab (Chase 215).
Why Join the IPA?
Because we are a "no pressure" organization - the degree to which you participate is entirely up to you. Not only do you get to meet like-minded people, you just might have some fun along the way as well.
