In accordance with IPA polices and for system upkeep, accounts which have not been logged into for the last 60 days on our system, nor have checked their email, have been archived as inactive. This has been done in order to reduce system overhead, and for ease of administration. This will also help us to ease the transition to the eventual replacement and upgrade from the existing system.

If you feel this is in error, or you would like your account restored, please contact us immediately, at ipa@ipa.buffalostate.edu, and we will restore your account and access as soon as possible.

The Information Processor's Association is pleased to announce a new way to get to the United Student's Government web site:

http://usg.buffalostate.edu

This new domain offers a professional and easy-to-remember address to the home of the USG on the internet, hosted by the Information Processor's Association.

This new address is in preparation of exiting new features coming to IPA and the USG in the future.

Of course, any references to the old address, http://ipa.buffalostate.edu/~usg/, will still work just fine.

     On Friday, 4/11/2008, around 4:00PM, a new firewall appliance was brought online to protect and monitor the main server. This was accompanied with some minor downtime.

Services were not affected, HTTP/SMTP/POP3/IMAP/SSH/SFTP/SCP all continue to function.

If there are any problems which may be as a result of this change to the network configuration, please contact us as soon as possible so that we may resolve them in a timely fashion.

On-Campus users now have the option of using traditional FTP services to access their account on the IPA server. This process is the same as accessing the student server on campus here, except you specify your IPA user name and password when prompted.

As part of our attempt to modernize our services, we are currently testing and offering a new webmail client, in addition to our previous client, Squirrelmail.

This new mail client is Roundcube, it is an Ajax-enabled mail client, with a plethora of new, user-friendly features.
