I. Call to Order

II. Corrections to the Minutes
A. Approval of Minutes
- President Levin-Stankevich states that at last weeks meeting his numbers were off regarding Caribash. The correction is a maximum of $8,000 added line for production in their budget. There will be a star next to it meaning that this is only to be used for Caribash production. Also, the $2,000 - $3,000 more for their money line will go into the Caribash line which can only be used for Caribash. I make a motion to approve the minutes 2nd by AVP Buckley.
B. Approval of Agenda
- President Levin-Stankevich states that his report will be
combined with EVP Normans report. There will be no report from AVP
Blake and Rules Chair Crowley tonight. I will add to my and EVP
Normans report Grades and Openings.
- Senator Pro Tem Groover adds Food Service Committee update.
- AVP Buckley adds Sports and Recreations Committee meeting.
- AVP LaFontaine adds Bowling Night.
III. President Levin-Stankevich and EVP Norman Report:
A. EVP Norman recognizes Nick Jerge (Judicial Council), Andeni Cunningham, Denise Thompson and Latoya Forsythe (Senators). Floor is open for questions. Vote is taken and passes unanimously.
B. Student Bills #7, #8, #9, #10 and #11 were passed out for review last week. We have Student Bill #5 which was handed out November 15 but it was never voted on. This Bill states that Judicial Council must have 5 justices in attendance to vote. Floor is open for discussion for Student Bill #5. There is no discussion and vote is taken and passes 0 nays, 0 nays 19 yeas. Floor is open to discuss Student Bill #7. There are no questions vote is taken and passes 0 nays, 0 abstentions and 19 yeas. Floor is open to discuss Student Bill #8. There is no discussion vote is taken and passes 0 nays, 0 abstentions and 20 yeas. Floor is open to discuss Student Bill #9. There is no discussion vote is taken and passes 0 nays, 1 abstention and 19 yeas. Floor is open to discuss Student Bill #10. There is no discussion vote is taken and passes 0 nays, 0 abstentions and 20 yeas. Floor is open to discuss Student Bill #11. There is no discussion vote is taken and passes 0 nays, 0 abstentions and 20 yeas.
C. Position nominations - last week we accepted positions that were open on the E-Board. I am bringing to the Senate for approval the following nominations. We nominated Allison Brady for AVP Academics. Floor is open for questions. Vote is taken and passes 18 yeas, 0 nays and 0 abstention. The new Senators and Allison Brady are sworn in. New Senators are now able to vote. I nominate our new Senator Latoya Forsythe for Vice Treasurer. Floor is open for questions. Vote is taken and passes 22 yeas, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions. I nominate Kathryn Ammirato for Rules Chair. Floor is open for questions. Vote is taken and passes 22 yeas, 0 nays and 0 abstentions. I will swear in Latoya Forsythe for Vice Treasurer and Kathryn Ammirato for Rules Chair. I am expecting a letter of resignation from Shannon Crowley and Meghan Blake by 4:00 pm tomorrow.
D. Record Article - I will pass around a copy of the article that will be in Thursday's paper.
E. EVP Norman announces that the Secretary position is still open and three College Senate positions along with four Senate spots.
F. Grade awareness - if you are interested in USG for next year you will need to have the following: Senator 2.0, an appointed position 2.2 and Executive Board 2.5.
IV. Treasurer Palka Report:
A. I would like to meet with my Budget Committee after the meeting.
V. Standing Committee Reports
A. AVP LaFontaine Community Relations Report:
- Bowling Night is tentatively set for February 28th.
- I would like to remind the Budget Committee that they will be doing
the USG table on Friday.
B. AVP Buckley Sports &
Recreation Report:
- I would like to meet with my committee after the meeting.
C. AVP Clarke Student Life Report:
- Senate Training is Saturday February 4th at JP Bullfeathers from
11:00 am - 3:00 pm. If you need a ride please sign this sheet.
- Student Life Committee will meet next Tuesday at 5:15 pm in room
408.
- President Round Table will be next Wednesday at 5:30 pm in room
415.
D. Senator Pro Tem Groover Report:
- Food Service Committee update.
- The Game Room committee meets every Tuesday at 6:00 pm.
VI. New Business - None
VII. Old Busines
A. President Levin-Stankevich gives an update on the Student Union initiative. February 1st we should be getting some answers from Sodexho if they are going to give us a commitment to this campus.
VIII. Constituents Questions/Announcements
A. AVP LaFontaine states that it was just brought to my attention that Bowling Night is the same time as Mardi Gras so we might have to change it.
B. AVP Buckley announces that this Friday is the due date for graduate applications.
C. Senator Dapaah announces that on February 2nd CSO is having a drumming/dancing program in Burchfield-Penny at 7:00 pm.
D. President Levin-Stankevich announces the first or second week in March is SUNY Lobby Day.
E. On February 11th is the Valentines Dance/Women's Appreciation.
