A. Commencement - we discussed this at the last meeting and it was tabled to this week. I took the liberty to draft a statement in regards to what we discussed. This memo will go to Michelle upon the Senate's approval for her to present to the Commencement Committee. The floor is open for a discussion. Vice Treasurer Palka motions to not support the division of commencement in the schools but to keep Buffalo State commencement in their current tradition. Senator Pro Tem Groover 2nd. Vote is taken and passes 18 yeas, 0 nays and 1 abstention.
B. Elm's Year Book - Michelle is part of the Year Book Committee and she will take some pictures for the year book. Michelle states that since there are a lot of Senators absent it would be better to take the picture next week.
IV. President Levin-Stankevich Report:
A. Parking Resolution draft - I will pass around a draft of the resolution and also a parking policy from the University of Albany. Not only am I presenting this to the Senate I also went to our larger organizations, RHA and to some of the dorms to get some feedback. I then took all the feedback and what we discussed at our last meeting I came up with this resolution. Floor is open for discussion. It is suggested that we should include in this resolution to add biking racks and safety concerning any other modes of transportation at the college. There are no more changes therefore I will add this and pass this on to the administration.
B. Student Union update - today I met with Dr.Kardonsky he said they were going to look into doing smaller sections of the union. They are focusing on the food service venues and programming rooms. There is another meeting on Monday and Dr. Kardonsky should have the projected costs for a contractor to come in.
C. Alumni Association Representative - I've asked them if they might be able to do some fundraising for us for the Student Union. There is a meeting on November 10th at 5:30 pm if you are interested in attending.
D. Presidential discretion - in the constitution it states that if I make a decision I have to do it. If it is a crucial decision I have to inform the Senate and get your feedback. I made a decision in regards to the Damain Marley show. I would like to combine Carlos Mencia and Damain Marley into one show. We will then take the total cost of the show and make it be the total income line. Out of this income line $250 will go to AASO and CSO with the rest going to SUB. I believe this is fair in terms of what we promised our organizations. If there are no questions we will move to EVP Norman's report.
