VI.            Treasurer Gabriel Report:

A.   I have received a request from President Brady to buy a table at the Gala to support the All College Honors dinner. The money will go towards the All College Honors Scholarship. Treasurer Gabriel reads the listings and prices. President Brady suggests we buy the table that costs $1750. The table includes 8 tickets to the dinner. President Brady states that every year USG has bought a table at this Gala to help fund the All College Honors Scholarship. This is our chance to support and bolster the academia of the College. Senator Manz asks how many can go and how do you pick who goes? President Brady states that the Senate can help in deciding on that, but in the past the E-Board went. Senator Cawthon states personally I think it’s an excellent idea to support the academia, but I disagree on the cost of the table. I think if we go one level lower on the table and spread the left over money to other Academic organizations it would be more beneficial. Senator Hamilton states that he has been to the Gala in the past, it’s a great event, and I support this beneficial event. Senator Pro Tem Nunez states that she understands what Senator Cawthon is saying but all clubs get a budget to work with. I feel we focus a lot on groups as it is but we should show that we support more than just the groups. Senator Yazicilar states that she supports the motion as well. I live in the Honors Lounge in North Wing, and this money helps them so much. This would show the student body that we support more than just the organizations. Senator Manz asks where does the money come from. Treasurer Gabriel states the money comes from Student Appreciation; however I am not sure how much is in that line. Senator Cawthon states that the Social Clubs get so much more than the Academic Clubs. We have to think in the long term, and we need to invest in the Academic Clubs just as much as the Social Clubs. Treasurer Gabriel asks if we are going with President Brady’s motion of $1750 before she makes a motion. President Brady states that the motion has been brought forth to vote on the Scholarship Gala table of $1750 are there any more questions or comments. There are no more questions or comments vote is taken and passes 13 yeas, 1 nay and 0 abstentions. Treasurer Gabriel states that the Budget process is coming soon, get ready for it.

VII.            Standing Committee Reports

A.   Senator Pro Tem Nunez Report:
- I have put information in your mailboxes on the Liaison Reports. If you are on the Budget Committee or Rules & Regulations you did not get one.
- Your name tags will be corrected. For the new Senator’s, there is a book available in the office with organization contact information.
- Food Service minutes will be available soon with an attached comment sheet for you to write on and return to me.

Quorum Broken at 3:45pm

B.    AVP Hassan Community Affairs Report:
- Bengal 5K has been covered already, and I’ve gotten in touch with adopt a highway, so a sign up will be coming around soon.

C.    Rules & Regulations Greco Report:
- I would like to meet with my Committee after the meeting.
- Senator Kennedy asks what the deal with Vice Chairs is. President Brady states that AVP’s can appoint their own Vice Chairs, it helps to train a successor in case the AVP drops out. This is more an assistant position, they are not E-Board member and do not get paid. It’s been done in the past, Rules Committees had them in the past.

D.   Senator Yazicilar states that she has gotten about 50 responses. This sheet is called Your Student Fee at work, where students can offer their suggestions, comments, etc. If anyone wants to help me out with this please let me know, my goal was to get 1000 filled out, and I feel this could help us make things better for future years. I am targeting residents, commuters, organizations and just about everyone I can, so please help me.
