SENATE MEETING MINUTES
31st LEGISLATURE
SEPTEMBER 25, 2007
I. Call to Order
Roll Call
II. Approval of Agenda
A. President St. Rose motions to approve the minutes. EVP Brady so moved.
B. President St. Roses asks if there are any changes to the agenda.
- EVP Brady deletes Swear Ins from her report.
- Treasurer Gabriel deletes Vice Treasurer position from her report.
President St. Rose makes a motion to approve the agenda. Senator Ammirato so moved.
III. President St. Rose Report:
A. Student Assembly - I would like if the people who signed up are really going to go. UB is interested in going with us so if you can not go please let Lynn know.
B. Internship - this past weekend I received a letter from New State Assemblyman Sam Hoyt. He is looking for students to intern in his office on Delaware and this is a paid position. If you are interested please sign the sheet I am passing around.
C. Strategic Planning Committee - every 5 years the school has this committee and they plan how they see themselves in the next 5 years. The college is looking for students to be on this committee. If you are interested please come see me.
IV. EVP Brady Report:
A. Fall Fest is this Thursday. I would like to see the Senator’s who have offered to help out and I have tickets for everyone. USG will be giving out Chiavetta’s chicken during Bengal Pause.
B. Newman Award - The Newman Center awarded USG if you would like to see the award it is in the office.
C. Organizations President and Vice President meeting is this Friday at 3:00 pm in Bulger Communication North.
V. Treasurer Gabriel Report:
A. The Budget Committee meets on Thursdays at 3:00 pm.
B. Student Welfare Committee - I am the chair of this committee and I will be meeting with Tim Ecklund and Ted Schmidt Wednesday Oct 3rd at 4:00 pm.

A. AVP Hirsch Academic Report:

B. AVP Jueckstock Communications Report:
- Fall Fest promotion was a success. Tickets are on sale at the Rockwell box office.
- T-shirts - I will be giving everyone their t-shirts after the meeting. Please wear your t-shirts on Thursday for the pep rally.
C. AVP Dapaah Student Life Report:
- Homecoming is this week please come if it doesn’t rain it will be in the Quad if it does rain it will be in the Union. If you signed up to help on Thursday please make sure you show up. You will be marked with an absence if you don’t show up or if you just show your face and leave. Friday is the family parent’s dinner and Saturday is the parade and tailgate party. Please come out on Saturday with your black shirt that you will get at the pep rally.
- Aids Awareness week was a success last year so we are doing it again this year. Please inform your organizations so hopefully they will participate. On October 2nd we will have our 1st organization meeting in the game room conference room.
- I would like to see the Student Life Committee after the meeting.
D. Rules & Regulations Greco Report:

E. Senator Pro Tem Perez Report:
- Liaison Reports - attached to the packet is a memo. The main purpose of these reports is so that you can report back to us on the status of the organization you have been assigned to. The due date for these reports will be the 3rd Senate meeting in October. You will have a week to look at this if you have any problems come see me.
- Tabling - it has been brought to me from some of the AVP’s that some committee members are not showing up.
- Attendance - we will start with liaison reports. For each missed report it will count for 1⁄2 an absence. If you get 3 absences you will be removed from the Senate. You will also get absences if you sign up for things and don’t show up. If something happens and you can not make what you signed up for call us or put a note in our mail box.
- Mailboxes - please make sure you check your mail boxes.

IX. Constituents Questions/Announcements
A. President St. Rose states that UB has some speakers coming and they have given me some comp tickets. The speakers are Michael Moore, David Sederis and Craig Ferguson. Please put your name in my mail box if you are interested in going.
B. AVP Dapaah states that the USG banner still needs to be painted if you are interested in helping please let me know.
C. Erin from NYPIRG gives an update. I have a message from Pride Alliance that they heard a rumor that if you have stuff in storage and it’s not over $100 it will be thrown out. EVP Brady states that we are going to find what we can do to make this positive to make sure the organizations have all their stuff. AVP Jueckstock states that she met with the old president today about a few things and he did mention about meeting with the organizations. President St. Rose states that the organizations should talk to their liaisons who will tell us.
