            Roll Call

II.            Approval of Agenda

III.            AVP Hirsch Academic Report:

A.   As of tomorrow I have formally resigned because of school reasons.  There is a memo in everyone’s mailbox. Senator Hamilton asks “who will be replacing you”?  AVP Hirsch states the position will be open as of Thursday.

President St. Rose comes in late.  EVP Brady recognizes President St. Rose.

IV.            President St. Rose Report:

A.   UPD has cancelled so there will be no report.

B.    I would like to make a motion to bring forth the nomination for Vice Treasurer Melissa Stoll. President St. Rose gives the floor back to EVP Brady.  Floor is open for questions.  EVP Brady states that the Vice Treasurer has voting rights in the E-Board meetings. Also, in the absence of Treasurer Gabriel the Vice Treasurer takes over.  Vote is taken to appoint Melissa Stoll as Vice Treasurer and passes 21 yeas, 0 nays and 1 abstention. President St. Rose swears in Melissa Stoll as Vice Treasurer.

C.    Stakeholder meeting was this past Friday and we sent Senator Mead to represent us. Senator Mead is recognized to talk about the meeting.  Senator Mead states that every 5 years BSC reviews what they have accomplished and what they hope to accomplish. BSC is in the last of the 5 year stage. The topics that were discussed were: Advisement, school spirit and what students are looking for as far as classes. President St. Rose asks Senator Mead what she gained.  Senator Mead states she gained a better understanding of what administration wants to do to help us as students.  I had a lot of people come up to me and offer me an internship to continue as a stakeholder.

D.   If you are interested in the AVP Academic position please write a letter of intent and put it in my mailbox or EVP Brady’s mailbox.

E.    I would just like to say that I am not mad about what has happened within the last 2 weeks.  It just shows me that students are really in control and I would like to apologize. This was already in the making of a plan it was just a situation played differently. I see that being the speaker of the Chair is really hard because you want to say something but you can’t.  Now I can say things that I want to say. Within the next couple of weeks I will have someone come talk to you about extensions, renovations and future plans about the college.  I will also have someone from College Senate come and talk about procedures.

V.            Treasurer Gabriel Report:

VI.            Standing Committee Reports

A.   AVP Jueckstock Communications Report:
- Conference - AVP Dapaah, President St. Rose and I went to a conference this weekend and it was very educational. I learned a lot about marketing, branding a program and promotions.  If you are interested in what I learned you can stop by my office and talk to me.
- Union Bash advertisement please wear your shirts on Friday. I handed out little flyers that have all the information about Bingo.  If you are working please wear your shirt.
- Committee meetings - I am inviting anyone to come to my committee meetings they are on Tuesdays at 7:30 pm in the conference room.
- Tabling - now that AVP Hirsh is resigning I would like to remind the Academic Committee you still need to table.  This is a Senate obligation if you can’t make it please let me know.
- Camp Day - our idea is for the Senate to come up on Saturday and sleep over until Sunday. Sunday when the students come up and we will spend the day with them. The E-Board is having an issue if we should make this mandatory or not.  I would like to open this up to see what suggestions the Senate may have and get your feed back.  EVP Brady suggests a motion to suspend the rules to discuss the day at camp.  AVP Jueckstock states she would like that. AVP Walters 2nd.  Vote is taken to suspend the rules and passes 19 yeas, 0 nay and 3 abstentions.  Floor is open for discussion. Treasurer Gabriel states that this is on Veterans Day and some people may be going home and also should it be overnight or a day trip. Senator Nunez states that she does not think it should be mandatory because some people may be uncomfortable going out camping.  Also, it should be optional because we are doing it for fun and not Senate training.  AVP Jueckstock states that the reason we were going to make it mandatory is because it is an  obligation for Senators to see their camp which is a service that we offer. How many people were actually planning on going? Ok, that’s good then we wouldn’t need to make it mandatory. President St. Rose encourages the Senate to go. EVP Brady asks if there are any more questions and there are none. EVP Brady states that the rules are no longer suspended and we will continue with AVP Jueckstock report.

E.    Senator Pro Tem Perez Report:
- Liaison reports are due with the attendance sheets and the minutes for the   organizations. I’ve heard there has been some trouble getting these sheets but if you have the liaison reports please pass them up. If you do not have them now you will have to the end of this week or there will be repercussions.
- Food Service Committee went very well.  I would like to thank everyone who came.  We spoke about the lines in the afternoon and during Bengal Pause.  Sodexho said they will open the Bakery at 8:00 am instead of 10:00 or 11:00.  The sub line will be open until 11:00 pm and they are hoping that will alleviate some of the problem.  Also, the sub line is making premade subs and salads.  We spoke on the renovations and Dr. Ecklund said they will be done by spring semester. Hopefully, they will be up and running when everyone gets back from winter break. That is their prospective outlook it could change for any number of reasons. At the next meeting they are going to try to bring us samples. They want the students to know that when one sections ups another section will be closing for the renovation. Another big thing covered was attitude and sanitation of the workers.  I wasn’t aware of the problem but the students that came brought this up. They asked that the students stay aware of a problem and address the manager.  The next meeting will be November 14th in the Game Room conference room 105H.  I will get back to you with a time.
- Room Status for the Senate meetings are as follows:  first 2 weeks of the month we will be in the Assembly Hall and the last 2 weeks will be in Bulger West.
- We’ve been conducting a lot of interviews. I sent out a mass of e-mails to the candidates regarding the interviewing process.  Tonight we have a Student at Large Ayan Alinor and I would like to make a motion to nominate her. EVP Brady states floor is open to ask Ayan questions.  EVP Brady states there are no questions so we will move to a vote to  nominate Ayan Alinor to Student at Large and passes 22 yeas, 0 nays and 0 abstentions.  President St. Rose swears in Ayan Alinor.
-Senator Pro Tem Perez asks if he may speak on the Game Room.  EVP Brady asks if there are any objections and there are none.  Senator Pro Tem Perez states that the Game Room Committee is finally going to get going. Some of the big issues are how to get people down there, I will be working with AVP Jueckstock’s committee on this.  The E-Board has suggested that we do a survey to see what we can do different.  AVP Hirsch brought to my attention that maybe we can have it open on the weekends.  EVP Brady asks if there are any objections to recognize Lynn Korn, there are no objections.  Lynn states that the Game Room is open on the weekends from 3:00 - 10:00. Senator Pro Tem Perez states we need to work together to make it more attractive for residents and commuter students.  President St. Rose states that CRAGG suggests that students bring down their game systems and have tournaments.

VIII.            New Business

A.   President St. Rose states that there is an internship in Washington DC and you will be able to get school credit for this. I have put a paper in your mailboxes if you are interested please let me know. This past Monday I was a speaker for the Flag Raising ceremony. Also, I am working on the NFTA project to get NFTA under the college for the spring. I will be having a dinner meeting with Dr. Payne if you have any concerns please let me know. Senator Hassan states that people in the hotels are complaining about the placement of food. Treasurer Gabriel states that another concern is that there is no programming in the hotels. President St. Rose states he will bring these concerns to Dr. Payne. Another concern is that some organizations do not know who their liaisons are. Please go to them and make your self known.  There are 2 committees we are going to work on they are BSC School Spirit and the Retail Dining Hall Committee.

IX.            Constituents Questions/Announcements

A.   Senator Nunez states that students are not happy with the internet connection on campus. Also, students are complaining about food being burnt.  Can anyone go to the Food Service meetings?  Senator Pro Tem Perez states that all committee meetings are open to the students. Senator Nunez states that students want free laundry.  EVP Brady states that there is a contract with auxiliary services and it is under the Student Welfare Committee.  Last year they showed us what the Union was going to look like and students feel like dining services may not reopen.  President St. Rose states that he said earlier that he will be bringing a representative to talk about all the projects that are happening on the campus.  USG will be doing an Open Forum where you can voice all your concerns and get answers.
