Ok its 4 months later. Its been a busy summer.
Back in July, the whole family took a trip to Booth Bay, Maine. We had some lobster and did some whale Watching! We also brought some lobsters home to share with the family. In August, Susan and I went to Cirque du Soliel in Toronto.
We did our usual trip to the event formerly known as the Erie County Fair or Hamburg Fair, now known as America's Fair. The kids like seeing the animals and the sights and sounds bring back memories when I was as kid.
As summer raps up here the garden is still going strong with our harvest of tomatoes, beans, peppers, squash and soon pumpkins!
I have pictures to post, so check back!

Leg still bothering me. Doc says it may hurt up to 6 months! Grr hate getting old. The new bambino is due shortly. So we are anxious about that. Got a new grill to celebrate getting a good return this year. ;-) Thanks to Amazon.com found a pretty decent deal on last years model of the Weber grill we were looking at. Free shipping, no tax... Cooked a few times on it already. Can't wait until summer.

Managing to get around okay. Still feels like a sprained ankle and is it swollen. At least the cast supported the foot, now sitting the recliner hurts as the foot dangles off the end. Got some sorta cold. Great. Back to work Monday 2/14, St Valentines Day. Hopefully can get back to my early shift with weekends off. Planning a wine trip at the end of April. Theres a Cayuga Wine and Herb Fest, hopefully should be lots of fun. Thanks to everyone who helped out during my incident.

The ordeal is over!
I finally have the cast off!! After another session of X-rays, the leg was deemed stable enough for the cast to come off. Right now it feels like I have a minor sprained ankle and will take some getting used to. I got a major case of foot rot which hopefully I can take care of in a few minutes. ;-) Thus ends the Broken Leg Blog.

Happy Groundhog Day!
Hi to Kelly and Del, my first users of my feedback form.

Past the 1 month point, the leg seems to only hurt when I haven't elevated it in while. One week or so to go before work ( if its still there ). Got the taxes done last night, thank God for Turbo Tax.

Another week bites the dust. Ho Hum. This broken leg thing isnt all its cracked up to be. LOL. I hear some serious snow is on the way. Currently is -3 degrees, so its going to be wicked cold while we get dumped on. Played some Diablo II today. Got my ass handed to me by some cows.

Got my virtual webserver running on my home box again. Happy to get Cold Fusion going again. Still have to build SQL server. Leg likes to be elivated otherwise it swells to the point there is no room in the cast.

Seems to be getting better. Just taking a while to heal up. Can't wait to be fully functional. Spending my time reviewing certifications.

Possibly overdid it walking without the crutches for a day and a half. By end of the 5th, I was hurting. I used the crutches again to give the leg a chance to heal. Darn, the leg felt real good at the end on the 4th and early on the 5th.

Had my follow up appointment for my leg. Good news, no surgery. So my followup appointment is February 8th at which time the cast should be taken off. Yesterday the doctor also supplied me with a new cast "boot". Compared to the clunky, oversized one they gave me at the hospital, the new one is alot better, and its allowing me to walk without the crutches.

Happy New Year.
Looking at my favorite comic of all time today Calvin and Hobbes, with my son Robby. I love his snowman art. Robby seemed to like it too.

Yet another day.... A full day of Motrin seemed to work well vs the prescribed stuff. The only time it sucks is waiting for the Motrin to take effect in the morning. Making coffee today as the caffine headache made itself known at 3am. Welp coffee done.

My leg starting to hurt a little more, getting sore radiating away from the actual break site. I thought it was getting better. This bites.
Prefering to take Motrin over prescribed drugs. I feel the motrin is doing more to help the actual issue (reduce swelling vs straight pain management). Getting more P'Od at PHP, I was able to so much more with Cold Fusion.

As Buffalo got hit with its first decent snow this past holiday weekend, I slipped on some ice underneath the snow. As a result I am now sporting a cool new cast on my right leg. Hope Santa got you something better.
Got a few weeks of time on my hands while the leg hopefully mends together. So if you got something for me to look at, drop me a line.
